The Best Local Boutiques in Miami

Think Miami is all about bikinis, bright colors, and bodycon dresses? Think again. This sun-drenched city, annually frequented by the stylish Art Basel crowd, boasts a bevy of world-class retail destinations, from the Design District’s luxury boutiques, to Miami Beach’s vintage emporiums, to Wynwood’s indie shops. Miami’s fashion scene continually kicks it up a notch, so whether you’re in the Magic City for a weekend getaway or you call this scenic city home, here are four boutiques you cannot miss.

The Alchemist

Perched sixty feet in the air and referred to by many as a “jewelry box in the sky,” this luxury boutique is the epitome of art, fashion, architecture, and cultural lifestyle. The Alchemist’s ultra-modern, cutting-edge aesthetic was awarded the AIA Honor Award from the American Institute of Architecture for Best Interior Space in the Country (designed by famed Miami architect Rene Gonzalez) and houses the best names in fashion including Givenchy and Dior Homme, Chloe, Celine, Kenzo, Rich Owens and more as well as many emerging high fashion brands. For those afraid of heights, there is a second store on the street level housing an equally impressive brand roster

Vogue called this vintage boutique shop “Miami’s best kept secret,” which instantly merits it a place on our list. Redefining designer vintage, C. Madeleine’s, located in North Miami Beach, is a 10,000 square foot warehouse dedicated to vintage clothing, furs, shoes, accessories, costume jewels, and more. This boutique has become a staple for stylists, a favorite for celebrities, and is one of the world’s largest vintage showrooms open to the public. Owner Madeleine Kirsh personally chooses the thousands of pieces on display and considers C. Madeleines one of the fashion wonders of the world. With departments dedicated to individual decades, you’ll have no qualms finding fashion treasures such as a 1950s Nina Ricci couture gown, a 1980s Balmain cocktail dress or a 1990s Christian Lacroix suit. And, did we mention they have an entire section devoted to vintage Chanel?

The Webster

It would be impossible to discuss boutique shopping without mentioning The Webster. The store is actually a refurbished Art Deco hotel in South Beach and is complete with two stories filled with both contemporary and luxury brands, a third floor gallery space, and a rooftop lounge with unobstructed ocean views. It’s safe to say The Webster has put Miami on the international fashion map as one of the chicest boutiques in the country. The newest location in Bal Harbour, albeit smaller than the original and designed more like a lavish living room rather than an elegant residence,  features similar designers brands such as Celine, Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Stella McCartney.

En Avance

If it’s an indie vibe you’re searching for, En Avance is a must visit. Located in Miami’s Design District, this Ivanka Trump approved boutique carries a small range of meticulously selected designer collections from around the globe, showcasing innovative young designers such as No. 21, MSGM, Sofie D’hoore as well as fine jewelry from eclectic designers likes Neuwirth, Rosa Maria and Ek Thongprasert.
